Arendt Services and EBRC get ISO 22301 certified

Arendt Services, a specialised PFS offering a full range of business services to support companies in their setup and management in Luxembourg, and EBRC (European Business Reliance Centre), European specialist in ICT solutions since 2000 and supporting PSF, are the first companies in Luxembourg to obtain the ISO 22301 certification, a standard that guarantees the continuity of business activity. The certification demonstrates the strengths of Arendt Services, including its reliability and its quality culture, and strengthens EBRC in its pioneering position in the management of sensitive information and business continuity.

One of the concerns of businesses today is ensuring business continuity in case of a crisis. The partnership of Arendt Services and EBRC has allowed the two companies to provide a global solution to this concern. The double certification by EBRC and Arendt Services ensures customers get "end-to-end" continuity for their services through the implementation of a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and a backup site, which is also certified, ensuring business continuity in case of crisis.

In order to obtain this certification, Arendt Services and EBRC have implemented and documented all the processes that ensure the robustness and efficiency of their business continuity measures such as:

  • Business Continuity Policy
  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA) of all of their activities and interdependencies
  • Risk Analysis (threats, vulnerabilities, impacts, recommendations for the management of risks)
  • Business continuity strategy (human resources, data, applications, critical suppliers)
  • Continuity plans for operations, communication, IT recovery, crisis management...

In this context, EBRC and Arendt Services have successfully proven their ability to activate backup plans for their customers by testing IT systems switchovers and organising on-site deployment exercises of specialised staff in case of an emergency.

EBRC and Arendt Services also set up performance indicators, a continuous improvement process, and a process for the effective management of any non-conformities.

Etienne Schneider, Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, says: “Congratulations to EBRC and Arendt Services for being the first Luxembourg PFS companies to meet the requirements of this ISO norm. Beyond their pioneering role, both companies highlight the role of Luxembourg as a European ICT hub, combining state-of-the-art infrastructure with a scientific and technologic multidisciplinary approach”.

Olivier Hamou, CEO of Arendt Services, explains: "With this standard, we are meeting the expectations of our customers that require integrated, solid and verified solutions. This certification perfectly corresponds to our philosophy of contributing to the sustainability of the business of our customers." The process launched by Arendt Services, which required a commitment from all its specialised PFS divisions, was completed in 12 months, thanks to the expertise of its partner EBRC.

Arendt Services and EBRC contribute to the development of the digital roadmap of the Luxembourg government. Yves Reding, CEO of EBRC, says: "This fairly recent certification perfectly meets the requirements of the Digital Lëtzebuerg initiative which aims at strengthening the position of the Grand Duchy in ICT." The ISO 22301 certification covers both EBRC "Trusted Data Centre Services" and "Trusted Resilience Services" offerings.

EBRC is the only company that controls the entire value chain of business continuity services in Luxembourg (analysis of business and IT processes, recovery solutions, preparation for crisis management). Through its "Trusted Advisory Services" for the management of business continuity, EBRC accompanied Arendt Services in the implementation of ISO 22301.

The Luxembourgish and French companies that certified Arendt Services and EBRC are PECB Europe and Bureau Veritas, respectively.
